Does HomePanel Studio replace Home Assistant?
No. HomePanel Studio is a dashboard and visual design experience for Home Assistant. Home Assistant remains the system that connects and controls your devices.
Where does my dashboard run?
HomePanel Studio runs on your own Docker host. Screens connect through a browser over your local network. The public website is separate from your installation.
Do I need a Pro license for every tablet?
No. Pro is licensed to a HomePanel Studio installation, not to each viewing screen. Multiple browsers can use the entitlement on that installation.
What happens to my Pro widgets if I return to Free?
Their settings stay saved. Pro widgets become inactive placeholders, while Free widgets keep working. Reactivating Pro restores access.
